My mirrors come utilising two different glass kiln forming techniques. the first as displayed in the 'Orbital' and 'Squareal' mirrors are the result of the 'Pate de verre' process. This entails mixing roughly ground up glass with a gum binder (and powdered glass colour if required), then filling the mirror frame shaped molds. This is heated to fusing point in the kiln. The higher one fires these pieces the smoother the finish. The second technique applied is the flat fusing method similar to that of the tiles. The relief texture on the 'bubble' mirrors is accomplished through rapid heating in the kiln which traps air between the layers of glass as they fuse.
